I paid a visit to my favorite gun store today, hoping to fill a void in my soul. (I haven't bought a gun in over a year, and that makes me weepy.) It's a little out of my way, but usually worth the drive. It's a family run shop, good prices, and generally pretty well stocked.

Of course, I've heard all the recent chatter about how busy gun shops are, but wanted to take society's temperature for myself. As expect, this place was wall to wall bodies. I couldn't drool on the glass counters for lack of a standing room. Not that that mattered, since when I could get up to them, they were near empty for this shop. They easily had only one third the quantity of the pistols they usually keep stocked.

Their rifle racks were still pretty full, although they stock a lot of high-end bolt guns and over/under shotguns. I did count about a dozen EBRs waiting for adoption, although I didn't get a look at the prices. Ammo stores were a little depleted. I witnesses no less than 5 people writing on yellow paper in the 20 minutes I milled about.

Needless to say, my void remains unfilled.
