Congratulations, Solo. She sounds big and healthy.

My little one turns two today and she's the reason I do everything I do.

Solo, you and your wife probably know this, but don't give the baby a bottle with juice in it at night. Even acid free juice. Nobody told us that, and my wife and I gave our daughter a bottle with acid free juice at night. She got bottle syndrome and had to go through some extensive and painful repair work to her teeth. Ask your mom and your mother in law if they know of any other stuff like that. You would be surprised, people think you just naturally know the million and one things you have to know as parents, but you don't. How is your sleep holding up? I used to walk the kids at night so Miriam could get some sleep, and it damn near killed me. But your wife can't do it all, as I'm sure you know, she needs you to do things like diapers and laundry and things you wouldn't normally think of as something a man would do. But hey, you don't need a lot of spurious advice from an old man. I'm sure you have a handle on being a dad.

Hermit, I appreciate any advice from those who have "been there, done that". We do know not to give juice. I'm fortunate in that my mother was a maternity nurse for 15 years, which gives a deep well of experience to draw upon. Further, my mother-in-law is staying with us this week to lend an extra set of hands. Lastly, I'm the oldest of all the kids in my family, including cousins - my youngest sister is 10 years younger than I. That doesn't equate to being a parent, but I at least have a little bit of "hands-on" experience. My wife, the youngest of her clan, does not.

Diapers, laundry, and night time feedings I'll take care of while my wife recovers. Like I've said before, jack of all trades!
